Pedify guide

What a ped is made of

A GTA V ped is a character model plus the textures and metadata that tell the game how to use it. Keeping those parts together makes a project easier to inspect and export.

Before you start

Start by identifying the files you have. A .ydd contains drawable geometry, a .ytd contains textures, a .ymt describes drawable and variation slots, and a .yft may provide a skeleton. A set can use only some of these.

Use the controls shown

Open a matching set in the editor and read the validation list before changing anything. If a required companion file is absent, locate it from the same source instead of renaming a different file to make the warning disappear.

Check and keep your work

Keep an untouched copy of the original set. Work in a project copy, then compare the exported file list with the inputs before installing it.
