Pedify guide

Install an exported ped on a FiveM server

A careful install starts with the resource Pedify exported, the exact model name, and a private test server.

Install the complete resource

Choose the FiveM resource export in Pedify and keep an untouched copy of the downloaded ZIP. Extract it into a new folder under your server’s resources directory, either directly or under a category such as [peds]. Keep the exported folder structure together: manifest, metadata and streamed model/texture files work as a set. Do not rename files unless you also update every dependent reference.

Enable and inspect it

Use the exact resource folder name in server.cfg, for example ensure my_ped. FiveM resources use an fxmanifest.lua manifest; see the Cfx.re resource manifest reference. Start on a private test server and read the console for a missing-resource or manifest error before joining.

Spawn the exported model

Use the model/spawn name in Pedify’s export summary, not the folder name unless they happen to match. Try the server’s approved ped selector or a model-name command. Verify the player view and a second client if the model will be networked. A local preview proves only that the editor can render its inputs; it does not prove the server mounted the resource.

Update an existing resource safely

For a stream-only export, first copy the existing resource. Copy the exported stream files into its stream directory and preserve the current manifest and metadata. Compare filenames before replacing anything. Restart the resource or test server, then check the model and visible garments on a clean client.

What this guide does not establish

It does not verify a particular host, server recipe, menu, asset license or game edition. You are responsible for rights to uploaded source files and for checking your server’s current resource rules.
