Create a face from a photo

Use the local Face panel to shape a head from a portrait and, if you choose, place the portrait as a skin layer. This browser-based tool is separate from AI Face3D.

Prepare the portrait

Choose one front-facing JPG, PNG or WEBP image up to 25 MB. Use even light, a neutral expression, no glasses, and keep hair clear of the face. A single visible face gives the detector a clear target.

Open the local photo tool

  1. Select the head in the Head category.
  2. Open Face in the inspector and choose Create face from photo.
  3. Confirm that the portrait is yours or that you have permission to use it. Then choose Choose photo or drop the file in the photo area.

The bundled face detector runs in your browser. This route does not send the portrait to an AI provider; AI Face3D is a separate, unavailable feature.

Review and apply

Inspect the detected outline and the live ped preview. Read any status below the image: a refusal means choose another photo; a warning explains what may be less similar. Turn the ped to check the result from the side.

Use Shape the head to include or omit the shape change, then adjust Likeness. Use Lay the photo on as skin and Skin from photo to control the texture. Under More options, review Match the skin tone and Even out the light.

Choose Use to apply shape and skin as one history step. Choose Change photo to select another image, or Cancel to leave the project unchanged.

Refine it in the editor

The texture editor keeps the portrait on a separate Face from photo layer above Base. You can adjust its opacity, soften or erase its edge, recolour it, or remove the layer. Face sliders remain available for small shape corrections; one Undo removes the photo step.
