Pedify guide

Read ped export checks and errors

Use the export review and its file list to find the next useful action. A missing companion is a reason to check the source set, not to discard or rename your originals.

Start with the export review

Open the ped project and choose Review export. Read each diagnostic beside the file it names. The import overview checks file names and whether expected companions are present; it does not prove that every game file, texture, weight or in-game behavior is valid. Keep the original folder or ZIP unchanged and work from a copy.

For a missing-file message, compare the named file with the model and texture files from the same source folder. Keep matching model and texture names together. Do not invent a replacement filename or assume a missing texture or weight can always be repaired.

Common companion-file codes

NO_MODEL
A matching drawable model file is missing for a selected texture or clothing entry. Check that the model and texture came from the same set.
TEXTURE_MISSING
A model or clothing entry has no matching texture file in the selected set. Add the original matching texture if you have it.
MISSING_YMT and MISSING_YFT
The selected ped set is missing its clothing-slot metadata or skeleton companion. Look in the original ped folder; do not substitute a file from an unrelated ped.
NO_PEDS_META
No peds.meta was selected. A Resource export can generate metadata for the exported ped name; a stream-only export does not create a standalone resource.
MANIFEST_MISSING
No resource manifest is present in the selected input. Choose Resource in Review export when you need Pedify to package a standalone resource; stream files alone do not include fxmanifest.lua.

NO_PEDS_META and MANIFEST_MISSING appear as generated entries when absent. Resource export can create those package files; stream-only export does not create a standalone manifest. Codes describe the particular check that reported them. If the named companion is present, reopen the same source set and review the diagnostic again. For a wider server-side ped check, use Ped check.

Ask for help with a failed export

First save the exact error code, the relevant original filenames and the export type. Include the named file and its matching original model or texture from the same source set; for a metadata code, note the named YMT or YFT companion. If a real export finishes as failed or partial, a signed-in user may be offered a separate private support upload. You choose which original files to send, review the file list and give explicit consent before upload. Nothing is sent just by opening the panel or selecting files.

Keep your own originals. A support upload helps investigate the reported case; it is not a promise that missing textures, weights or other source data can be reconstructed. Do not include unrelated player data or files you do not have permission to share.
